PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2026

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a Central Government scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to support traditional artisans and craftspeople across India. The scheme provides financial assistance, skill training, modern tools, and market support to people working in traditional family-based trades.

The scheme aims to strengthen the livelihood of artisans and craftsmen working in the unorganized sector by offering benefits like collateral-free loans, skill development training, toolkit grants, and digital incentives.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme will be implemented for five years until 2027–28.

Objectives of PM Vishwakarma Scheme

Implementing Agencies

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is jointly implemented by:

Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana

1. Recognition

Beneficiaries will receive:

  • PM Vishwakarma Certificate
  • PM Vishwakarma ID Card
  • Digital recognition as a registered artisan

2. Skill Training

Beneficiaries will receive skill training in two phases:

  • Basic Training: 5–7 days (40 hours)
  • Advanced Training: 15 days (120 hours)

Training Stipend: ₹500 per day


3. Toolkit Incentive

Registered beneficiaries will receive:

  • ₹15,000 financial assistance to purchase modern tools and equipment.

4. Credit Support (Loan Facility)

The scheme provides collateral-free business loans:

Interest Rate charged to beneficiaries: 5%

Government provides interest subsidy up to 8%.


5. Digital Transaction Incentive

  • Maximum 100 transactions per month

6. Marketing Support

The National Committee for Marketing (NCM) will support artisans through:

  • Product branding and promotion
  • Quality certification
  • E-commerce platform linkage
  • Participation in trade fairs and exhibitions
  • Advertising and publicity

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Must be an artisan or craftsperson working with traditional tools
  • Must work in the unorganized sector
  • Must belong to one of the 18 traditional family-based trades
  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Must be actively working in the relevant trade at the time of registration
  • Only one member per family can apply

Ineligible Candidates

The following applicants are not eligible:

  • Government employees
  • Family members of government employees
  • Applicants who have taken loans under schemes like:
    • PMEGP
    • PM SVANidhi
    • Mudra Loan
      in the last 5 years

Application Process

Applications can be submitted online through Common Service Centres (CSCs).

Step 1 – Registration

  1. Visit the official portal pmvishwakarma.gov.in
  2. Click on Login → CSC Register Artisans
  3. Complete Aadhaar verification using OTP
  4. Enter Aadhaar number and mobile number
  5. Continue with registration process

Step 2 – Application Form

  1. Visit the nearest CSC centre
  2. Complete biometric verification
  3. Fill the online application form
  4. Upload required documents
  5. Submit the application
  6. Save the Application Number for reference

Step 3 – Verification Process

Applications will go through three verification stages:

  1. Verification at Gram Panchayat / Urban Local Body level
  2. District Implementation Committee review
  3. Final approval by Screening Committee

Benefit Distribution

After approval, the beneficiary will receive:

  • PM Vishwakarma Digital Certificate
  • PM Vishwakarma ID Card
