UPSC CMSE Recruitment 2026
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) 2026 on 11 March 2026. Through this recruitment drive, UPSC will fill 1358 vacancies for various Medical Officer posts in government organizations.
Selected candidates will be appointed as Medical Officers in the Central Health Service, Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in Indian Railways, and General Duty Medical Officers in NDMC and MCD. Eligible candidates who have passed the final MBBS examination can apply online through the UPSC portal.

Educational Qualification

Selection Process
The selection process for UPSC CMSE 2026 consists of two stages:
1. Written Examination (500 Marks)
The written exam consists of two papers.

Each paper will contain 120 objective questions.

Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for a personality test.

- Professional competence
Salary
Selected candidates will receive salary according to Pay Level 10.
